MACY'S

DEPLOYMENT: Holiday Product Design & Sourcing

LOCATION: Nationwide Retail Network

TIMELINE: 3-Year Seasonal Campaign

VELOCITY: $5M+ Total Sales // First $1M Item in Department History

THE INTENT: BUILDING A HOLIDAY BESTSELLER

To capture massive holiday gift sales between Black Friday and Christmas, we created a brand-new retail product from scratch for Macy's private label, Giani Bernini.

Tattered Brands managed the entire lifecycle of the item. We handled everything from initial price-point planning and vendor manufacturing to custom gift-box design and multi-year inventory scaling.

01 // THE BOTTLENECK

The Holiday Crunch > The holiday shopping season requires a highly giftable, standout product to capture fast impulse purchases. Giani Bernini needed a unique, premium item built to fit a specific retail price point while protecting profit margins during the most competitive time of the year.

02 // THE DEPLOYMENT

Product Creation & Supply Chain > Tattered Brands designed the product backward from a target price point to maximize holiday sales:

  • Partnered with manufacturers to select premium sterling silver pendants, bracelets, and earrings.

  • Designed custom gift packaging featuring a built-in light and a voice-recording feature.

  • Managed vendor negotiations and supply logistics for an initial 60,000-unit production run.

  • Oversaw inventory planning across the following two years to scale up production based on customer demand.

03 // THE VELOCITY

$5 Million in Seasonal Sales > The product broke department records and became a massive revenue driver over three consecutive holiday seasons:

  • Generated over $1 Million in sales within the first six weeks of launch.

  • Became the first-ever $1 Million single item in the history of Macy's fashion jewelry department.

  • Increased production orders over the next two years to keep up with growing seasonal demand.

  • Brought in over $5 Million in total gross revenue across three holiday cycles.
